Lodging
Nested on a hillside, overlooking Lake Massawippi, just 2
kilometers away from the village of North Hatley, l'Auberge
welcomes its guests in a cozy XIXth century home. L'Auberge
is named after Marc-Antoine Gerrard, Sieur de Saint-Amant,
poet and songster of the good life who lived from 1594 to
1661. His poetry which celebrates le plaisir de la table
et de la bonne chère was renowned throughout France. It
is for this reputation that, at a later period, he was
chosen by Inn and Hotel owners of France their patron saint.
At l'Auberge le Saint-Amant, we take pride in honoring his
memory by perpetuating for our guests the art of hospitality
and the delicate pleasures of fine cuisine.
